The Company for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) has published its new Recommended Practices SMRP, 5th Edition, a comprehensive publication of world-class metrics, guidelines and a glossary of terms for the maintenance profession, Reliability and asset management. This publication is designed to help practitioners manage safe, cost-effective and efficient maintenance and reliability programs that align with an organization's strategic, operational and tactical best practices.
The more than 70 measures and guidelines in this new edition provide standards and benchmarks to measure the success of maintenance and reliability programs. Each metric is divided by definition, objective (s), formula, definitions and qualifications of components, and includes an example of calculation, best target values, warnings and notes for harmonization. The guidelines provide additional information and clarifications on the terms of the components used in the SMRP parameters.
